Fihn is Senior Principal Analyst – Displays for the IHS Electronics &
Media Group. He concurrently heads a publishing company called Veritas et
Visus, where he supports the flat panel display industry based on his
expertise related to notebook PCs, Tablet PCs, touch technologies, the LCD
TV market, and display related human factors, including high resolution and
wide aspect ratios. Prior to Veritas et Visus, Mark worked for 3 years at
the market research firm DisplaySearch. He additionally participated for 15
years in computer system and LCD-related procurement at Texas Instruments
and Dell while living in the United States and Taiwan. Mark was educated at
St. Olaf College (Northfield, Minnesota), the American Graduate School of
International Management, (Phoenix, Arizona); St. Edward’s University,
(Austin, Texas), and in the University of Texas at Austin’s doctoral program
in International Business.
Phillip Hill currently heads his own
editorial and translation service company, Science Editorial Ltd.
Prior to SEL, Phillip worked for six years at the Institute of Physics in
the UK where he edited Opto & Laser Europe and championed the need
for a magazine and newsletter in the displays field. He launched and
edited Displays Europe in collaboration with the Society for
Information Display in 2001. Phillip spent most of his journalistic
career in France where he worked as the Paris correspondent for a variety of
US and European B2B and science & technology publications. He has also
worked for the Agence France Presse wire service and as a broadcaster on the
world service of the French radio corporation Radio France International.
Phillip was educated in England culminating in an Honours Degree Programme in Physics from the
University of Sussex.
Manager, Cheryl Fihn runs two
businesses related to the craft industry – Scrappily Ever After, an on-line
scrapbooking store, and The Punch Bunch, a wholesale company that designs,
manufactures, and distributes craft paper punches throughout the world.
Cheryl raised our four children, including home-schooling. She is a graduate
of St. Olaf College (Northfield, Minnesota). Cheryl is active in a variety
of community and philanthropic organizations.
